CarShippers.ai coordinates directly with auction yard operations at Manheim, Copart, ADESA, and IAAI. You submit the vehicle via the dealer portal or API with the auction location, run number or lot code, and destination. Our ops team manages gate coordination with the yard and assigns a carrier trained on that specific auction's procedures. You do not need to arrange pickup separately, negotiate with the yard, or hold the carrier's hand through the release process. Confirmation of carrier assignment reaches you within 2 business hours of submission.

Do I need a long-term contract or minimum volume commitment?

Accepted Answer

No. Dealer accounts have no minimum volume commitment and no long-term contract requirement. Volume pricing applies from your first shipment based on your expected monthly tier. Your tier is reviewed monthly and adjusts automatically as your actual volume changes — no renegotiation required. If you stop shipping with us, you stop. No termination clauses, no early-exit fees.

How does batch booking work and what is the maximum batch size?

Batch booking lets you submit up to 50 vehicles in a single transaction via the dealer portal, CSV upload, or API endpoint. Each vehicle is auto-routed to the optimal carrier based on origin-destination pair, carrier availability, on-time score, and corridor specialisation. Typical usage: a dealer coming out of a Monday Manheim sale submits the entire sale's wins as one batch; assignments confirm by end of day. For submissions over 50 vehicles, split into multiple batches or use the API, which has no batch size limit.

What DMS integrations do you support?

We have pre-built integrations with VAuto, CDK, Dealertrack, and Reynolds & Reynolds. Any DMS with a REST API can integrate with our endpoint. Integration onboarding typically takes 3 to 10 business days and is handled by our implementation team — your internal IT resource does not need to manage it end-to-end. Dealer groups with 5+ rooftops typically use API integration; independents typically use the portal. Both have identical functionality.

Do you handle Copart salvage and non-running vehicle pickups?

Yes. Copart salvage pickups require flatbed or tilt-bed carriers because most salvage units are non-running. Our system flags vehicle class at submission; Copart pickups automatically route to carriers with the correct equipment. Gate coordination with Copart yards is handled the same way as Manheim and ADESA — you provide the lot number, we manage release. Transit times for Copart are typically 1 to 2 days longer than wholesale auctions because the flatbed pool is smaller.

What billing terms and payment methods do you support?

Approved dealer accounts receive net-30 billing by default. Application for net-30 is part of onboarding and takes 1 to 3 business days — we pull a standard business credit report and check references. Before net-30 is approved, new accounts pay by ACH or wire on a per-shipment basis. Credit card is available but adds a 2.9% processing fee; most dealers prefer ACH. Consolidated monthly invoicing with per-VIN line items is standard. Invoices break out transport fee, fuel surcharges, and any yard storage fees separately.

What vendor onboarding documentation do you provide?

Standard vendor pack: W-9, certificate of insurance (COI) with your dealership as additional insured (issued within 48 hours), banking information for ACH setup, FMCSA broker license and $75,000 BMC-84 bond verification, references from three comparable dealer accounts, our standard vendor agreement, and SLA terms document. Custom vendor paperwork (your standard vendor form, your procurement system's intake) is handled by our account setup team during onboarding. No vendor-onboarding rodeo.
